COACHES

Graham Cole

Graham competed and medalled in numerous high-level national and North American competitions, and trained in the national short track program in Calgary. He is former Head Coach of the Fredericton Speed Skating Club in New Brunswick, and has also coached the New Brunswick provincial team and at the Calgary Olympic Oval. He has worked with a number of great coaches, including Jeff Scholten, Stephen Gough, and Peter Steele. Graham joined the Toronto Speed Skating Club in 2009 as a coach and consultant.

Peter Doucet

Peter Doucet started short track speed skating in 2005 with the Brampton Speed Skating Club. With an extensive competitive & coaching background in inline & roller speed skating, Peter is continuously looking at improving his coaching practice. He is an active roller speed skater, representing Canada in international competitions including the World Championships & Pan American Games.

A school teacher by trade, Peter brings experience in education to help foster positive bonds with the younger TSSC skaters.

His interests include writing & performing music, working on his website SpeedSkateWorld.com, reading, watching movies, and racing on wheels and on blades. He is also a coach with the Toronto Inline Skating Club.

Bruce Perrault

Bruce has been coaching speed skating with the Toronto Speed Skating Club for five years. In that time, he has helped introduce the sport to many skaters, including his son and daughter. Bruce's greatest enjoyment in coaching comes from seeing participants from a wide variety of skating backgrounds come into the sport, start to learn about its unique challenges and rewards, and begin to thrive.

Though Bruce's son continues to speed skate with TSSC, he harbours the wish that his daughter will return from the dark side (a.k.a. hockey).

Will Wallace (Head Coach)

Will has been involved in speed skating since 1998, when his son wanted to give the sport a try after watching it in the Nagano Olympics. His daughter started skating five years ago, and the two still enjoy the sport; Will started skating himself a couple of years ago. He has served as club president for the past number of years and has been on the board since 2001. He is shifting his focus this season to coaching, and is thrilled to watch the club's skaters develop.
