Camp & Special Sessions

Announcing the TSSC Summer Camp for 2017!

A one week Technical Camp in Toronto at the MasterCard Center, 400 Kipling Avenue, Etobicoke the week of July 17-21, 2017.

Full Day Program

As many of you may know, summer is the perfect time to work on technical improvements.  This full-day camp includes two ice sessions per day, dryland training, video analysis, and tons of technical drills and exercises aimed at making you the best skater you can be. Of course, there will also be fun and games as well as an evening picnick!

Coaching Team

Lead coach: Francois Drolet – Olympic gold medalist (5000m relay team, Nagano 1998), National team equipment specialist, coach with the CEPVRQ since 2015. Francois will be developing the camp training program in collaboration with Eric Bedard (Director of the Calgary Olympic Ring’s short track high performance program).

· Coach: Elizabeth Ward – 4th year with the TSSC summer camp, national level competitor 2011-2017, member of the Canadian Regional Training Center between 2011-2013, coach at Montreal Gadbois Speed Skating Club since 2010

Ȳ· Coach: Jesse Keca – two years training with the CNCP (national short track team), two top-10 finishes at junior world trials, competitor at Senior World Cup Trials, coaching experience in power skating, learn-to-skate, speed skating, and hockey skills.

„Eligible skaters”

Youth skaters of all levels, 8 to 19 years old, with a minimum of one season completed.  For skaters 20 years and older please contact us at or consider attending our Masters camp led by Sue Ellis at the MasterCard Centre July 21-23.  This is not a camp for learning to speed skate.

Camp Pricing

All skaters:          1 week $400

If you need to book a place to stay, we strongly suggest that you do so early to avoid disappointment. There are a number of hotels in the Pearson airport area, which is located a 15 to 20-minute drive away from the rink.

TSSC will attempt to facilitate billeting opportunities by putting interested out-of-town skaters in contact with local families willing to host. We can not guarantee that requests will be met by an offer because this is dependent on volunteerism. Please consider $150 per week per skater as a financial contribution paid directly to the host family.

How to register

Registration is now open for all skaters. Registrations will be confirmed on a first come basis, once both registration information and cheque is received.
