As many of you may know, summer is the perfect time to work on technical improvements.  This full-day camp includes two ice sessions per day, dryland training, and tons of technical drills and exercises aimed at making you the best skater you can be. Of course, there will also be fun and games.

  • Camp times: 9:30am – 5pm
  • Camp fee: $375

Lead Coach

We are very excited to have Elizabeth Ward back in Toronto to lead the camp!

Elizabeth started short track speed skating at 9 years old after having seen in on television. She skated most of her career at Montreal Gadbois until she spent 3 years at the Canadian Regional Training Center. She competed nationally in both long track and short track for several years. After her competitive days, she returned to her home club to start coaching more seriously. Currently, Elizabeth is the assistant head coach at Montreal Gadbois as well as the head coach of the Saint Constant speed skating club on the south shore of Montreal. These clubs are at the very top of Quebec speed skating, and therefore they are by extension at the very top of Canadian speed skating. Elizabeth has been coming to coach in Toronto for the past 5 years and had the chance to coach with Nagano Skate as well. She currently has her INC coaching certificate, and she is starting her CompDev certification over the summer.

On the team assisting Elizabeth this summer will be Nicolas Laborde.  He is a Colombian short track skater who competes in World Cups and World Championships – this year he finished top 24 in the 1000m at the world champs. He has been coaching at Montreal Gadbois with Elizabeth for the past 4 years.  Rounding out the coaching team will be members of our TSSC coaching family and youth assistants.
