Wednesday, February 1st

We will be fitting new skaters for our final ITSS sessions of the season which begin on Sunday.  Skaters will be arriving between 7pm and 9pm so please lend a hand to get them fitted and ready.

This season’s ITSS sessions have been a huge success.  We have had over 60 ITSS skaters sign up for our sessions and 12 skaters have joined the club as members following their sessions (and several who couldn’t join us due to prior commitments but who are interested in joining us next season).  Thank you to everyone who has helped welcome these skaters to our sport!

Thursday, February 2nd – Saturday, February 4th

TSSC has a great team of skaters heading to the Ontario Winter Games in Renfrew County this weekend.  Good luck to Rachel, Gwen, Phelan, Kyler, Nicholas, Andi and Lexy!

We will be laying our track at Ford Performance Centre on Saturday, February 11th from 6:45pm-8:45pm.  For those who have already volunteered to help, thank you.  If you’d like to join the crew, we can always use more hands!  All volunteers, please bring a helmet.

Please ensure you have received, sold and returned all your ticket stubs and money raised to Arthur Niu by practice on Wednesday, February 15th (or Thursday, February 16th for Commander skaters).  We ask that all members sell 10 tickets to raise money for the club (this is our only fundraiser each season).  The draw for the prizes will be held on Sunday, February 19th.

We are hosting our full day meet on Sunday, February 19th.  We can’t wait to host this meet and see all of our skaters competing on home turf!  Registration ends on Wednesday, February 8th.

Yes, you read that right!  TSSC Merchandise is finally here!  We will be selling TSSC branded hoodies, t-shirts and sweatpants.  We will be sending an order form out soon with all the details, so stay tuned!

An updated Short Track Ranking List is now posted on the SSO website HERE. 

We continue to hope we will be able to host the Ontario Long Track Provincial Championships on February 11-12. 2023 in Ottawa. This event is subject to change/cancellation due to weather, ice conditions or COVID19.
Registration closes on Wednesday February 1 at 11:59pm
Skaters with a SSO competitive membership aged 7 years old and above before July 1, 2022 are eligible for the Ontario Provincial Long Track Championships.

The Short Track Ontario Elite Championships and Ontario Provincial Championships Technical Bulletins are now posted on the SSO Technical Bulletins page HERE.

We are looking for officials and volunteers for the Canadian Youth Short Track Championships, being held on March 25-26, 2023 at the Sixteen Mile Arena in Oakville. We are looking for various positions to be filled such as timers, judges, track stewards, etc. A full list of available positions can be found on the form below. If interested, please fill out the volunteer interest form by February 28, 2023.

Lake Placid is hosting the Long Track Adirondack Sprint Championships on February 18-19, 2023. Registration and information can be found HERE. Registration is due February 14, 2023.
